Invitation from the CEO

Dear Members, Affiliates, Associates and Sector Supporters

As CEO of PowerHousing Australia, and on behalf of our board we extend a warm welcome and invite our Members, Affiliates, Associates, international partners and invited guests to attend the 2019 PowerHousing Annual Member Exchange.

The last 12 months has been a significant one for our sector and this year alone has seen the first social impact bonds issued, a federal election with the Coalition having four ministers having portfolio roles on our Member interests.

Our event has a laser beam focus on PowerHousing CHPs for Growth: Building Resilient Australian Communities.

Being in Canberra in Parliament House and other central locations such as the National Museum of Australia and QT allows our CHPs to be very visible and relevant to those that matter.

The conference provides excellent opportunities for CHPs, Affiliate and Associate Partners, thought leaders and decision makers from sector, industry and government to exchange international, national and local best practice in delivering affordable housing.

I look forward to welcoming you to Canberra in November 2019.

About the 2019 PowerHousing Australia Annual Member Exchange

The 2019 PowerHousing Annual Member Exchange will take place on 25-27 November in Canberra located at QT Canberra, Australian Parliament House's Mural Hall and the National Museum of Australia.

Our Member Exchange brings together the key thought leaders and decision-makers on affordable housing from around the country to the one place. As such the Member Exchange brings together around 300 invited guests of PowerHousing to shape the future of scale affordable housing delivery and social outcomes for decades to come.

Our Member Exchange is a unique opportunity to network at a high level with sector leaders, political leaders and department heads as well as discuss best practice, future trends and policy direction in the affordable housing sphere.

The conference includes Community of Practice Meetings, Roundtable meetings, a Non-Executive Directors Forum, Rising Stars Immersion and a trade show, as well as the PowerHousing Australia Awards Dinner.

The conference theme focuses on PowerHousing's role as building on international and local best practice in social impact and building resilient Australian communities. Keynote speakers include Matthew Bailes (Group Chief Executive, Paradigm Housing – UK), Callahan Seltzer (Deputy Director, Housing at Local Initiatives Support Corporation LISC – USA), Mike Mantle (Managing Director Global Sustainable Finance, Morgan Stanley – USA) and Ria Bailes (Group Director of People & Change, One Housing Group – UK).

Topics of interest for the member exchange have been sought from our Members' best practice to international examples of social and affordable housing delivery.

Our event over the last two years has hosted Prime Minister Scott Morrison, ministers and shadow ministers and the engagement in our Member Exchange illustrates the level of interest in our Member group, the calibre of which we will look to pursue for the 2019 event.
